Miss Sherry welcomes you to Third Grade!

Third grade is an exciting and fun filled year! In science we will use a hands-on approach to explore plants and organisms. We will also learn about forces and simple machines. In Social Studies, we will explore our environment and the communities in which we live. We will develop our writing skills through Language Arts. Students will be the authors of their own descriptive paragraphs, fairy tales, narratives, letters and various poems.  In Reading, we will be strengthening our literary skills by enjoying a wide range of genres. Students will continue to learn new mathematical concepts and develop multiplication and division skills.

Third grade is a very important year for students at Saint Ambrose School. Students will be receiving two major sacraments, the sacrament of Reconciliation in December and First Holy Communion in April. These sacraments are very important in the development of each student’s faith and I am blessed to help them prepare for these occasions.  In addition to the preparation your child will receive in school there is preparation outside of school. The parish holds parent meetings and offers retreats to help prepare both parents and students for these sacraments.

Third grade is sure to be a year full of fun, excitement and growth. By working together, this year will be a huge success! Please contact me through the school officewith any questions or concerns throughout the year!
