LEARNING IS FUN IN 4TH GRADE!
Welcome to Miss Andrefski's class
This will be a year of great discoveries. We encounter Jesus' real presence in the Eucharist. We learn the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes. Since service is a form of worship, we invite our friends from Holy Family Adult Day Care to seasonal parties and enjoy their company and conversations.
For Reading, we use Reading Street 2013. Currently we are exploring a theme on teamwork. Our stories relate directly to Science and Social Studies concepts. We enjoy partner reading and centers and soon will be doing Readers' Theatre.
Much of our math this year involves division, multiplication and problem solving. We play blackboard games often. Generally, the children enjoy this the most.
The skeletal system is fascinating. We practice vocabulary by playing the Hokey Pokey and Simon Says. Science rocks! Hands on activities are the best.
There are many fascinating topics in social studies including the Revolutionary War, Civil War, immigration, Civil Rights, government and the Regions of the United States. Projects are fun and challenging.
The best thing about 4th Grade is the wonderful students that come every year. We would love to have you join us here at St. Ambrose where learning is fun. You might enjoy some of the following links that pertain to our units of study:)
