Welcome to Eighth Grade!
Eighth grade is a special year at St. Ambrose:
It is the year when our eighth grade students receive the blessed sacrament of Confirmation.
It is the year the students enter school on the first day excited to finally be "the seniors" on campus, after many long years working their way to this special year. They are looked upon as role models by the younger children. Eighth grade students offer their services in the computer lab, with morning and afternoon announcements/dismissal, raising/lowering our American flag, and helping the kindergarten children at dismissal.
It is the year the students leave St. Ambrose with memories of a loving school "family." Their memories will last a lifetime and the faculty and staff will never forget them because we are a family. Graduation is a special evening for our students, their families, and our staff.
Eighth grade is a busy year:
The students are actively involved with their studies, preparing for Confirmation and the annual Science fair. Many participate in various writing contests. All are encouraged to attend the many after-school activities such as Math Counts, Student Council, Envirothon, Robotics and/or CYO sporting events. School dances are provided throughout the year. The talent show is an event that is quite popular, whether a participant or a member of the audience. Everyone looks forward to the field trip sponsored by our very supportive Parent Council. Eighth grade plans one last trip together and in order to do so, they fundraise throughout the year. Breakfast with Santa is the most lucrative fundraiser, thanks to the support of the Men's Club and the entire St. Ambrose Parish Family.
